The Real Optimus Prime

Repeat the mantra: “Please do not suck!”

According to Major Spoilers (quoting from G4 Comic Con Live show and by Michael Bay), Peter Cullen, (who provided the voiced Optimus Prime on the 1980s animated series) WILL be reprising his role for the feature film. So, what about Megatron?

“Mum was the word when producers were questioned on the voice of Megatron, but if Cullen is a clue, we may get Frank Welker back as well. Word on the street is Welker has sent in an audition tape for the role of Megatron.”

So, it’s starting to sound like everything is shaping up, but we’re still waiting on what it’ll look like. We’re standing by the fact that, if there was ANY film Michael Bay was destined to direct, Transformers is it. If not, we’re preparing a quest to have Mr. Bay carried out of the Shire and cast into the fires of Mt. Doom from whence he came… either that, or nuke the entire site from orbit (it’s the only way to be sure).
