Scooby Doo 3 Loses Another Cast Member
Movie Hole reports that in addition to Sarah Michelle Gellar (Daphne) and Freddie Prinze Jr (Fred) not coming back for Scooby Doo 3, Matthew Lillard (Shaggy) might not be back either.
?€?We are probably not doing Scooby 3 right away, at least not with us. We all love Scooby, but all of us involved, including myself, Raja, Matt and the others, would like to get a couple other projects under our belts before we did anything with Scooby again?€?, Gunn tells Moviehole. ?€?The movies take an enormous amount of work, and I think we’d all like to stretch our muscles in other directions for a while. I, for one, am working on more horror movies, which was always my first love.?€?
I was never big into the Scooby movies so this doesn’t really bother me. I do think however, it would be a bad call on Warner Bros. part to shoot the movie with an entirely new cast as we have seen in the past that it doesn’t work well. Knowing Hollywood though, this wont stop them.

I really love watching anything scooby doo, as an adult I still run out and buy every new cartoon movie for me & my kids to watch, I really hope Sarah & Freddie & Matt come back it wouldn’t be the same without you! You already did the first 2 movies and they were a hit why not a 3rd, no one could replace you guys! I hope you change your minds and soon, I would really like to see Scooby Doo 3!

You really should do #3 cause kids are geting older and are not in to the scooby-doo cartoons anymore but there still into the real people scooby-doo and if you stop making them people will forget about scooby-doo and go to a very new favorit show so please don’t stop making them P.S,people look up to the actors so don’t get rid off the same actors you had for scooby-doo 1 and 2 .Im counting on you!!!!!!!!!!

Well if you guys don’t want to be in the film or sometihng I guess theres nothing anyone can do . I was looking foward to the 3rd movie . But I still feel like you HAVE to have a 3rd , maybe with new cast members ? Sure it won’t be the same , but at least it will be something , right ? (its sccoby doo we’r talking about it WILL be a hit even if the cast isn’t the same ) I mean if you don’t want to there bascily nothing we can do . But I think new cast members and a Scooby Doo 3 movie is better then no cast memvers and no Scooby Doo 3 movie at all . But thats just the way I see it .

Well I agree with maloriena its better to have new cast members and a movie insted of no cast members and no movie at all if they don’t want to come back then we can’t stop them . But maybe new cast members wont be so bad . Cause if thers no movie at all think of all the disapointed fans ! I wouldn’t mind new cast members . Mybe it time for a new air ? I think the movie should not be made until the original characters are ready to make the 3rd movie for Scooby Doo. Yeah it may be a few more years, but it will be a great movie with Sara, Fred, and Matt. There will be thousands of people dissapointed if it’s made without them. It’s really confusing to watch a movie that has a totally different cast. The movie should wait.

This article was posted nearly 4 years ago. I wonder if that’s given the cast enough time to ‘stretch their muscles’. Anyway, I’d like to see SC3 with the original cast, but that’s just me.
Other options: -like somebody said, the real-life actors could wander into a cartoon portal, so then they’d only need to voice-act most of the movie.
-prequel with new cast (gross.)
-continuing the story with a completely new cast (almost as gross.)

if you take away scooby doo you will be taking away kids childhoods, scooby is a legend that shouuld live on, i watched him when iwas a kid, and i want my kids to say the same to their kids!!!SCOOBY IS A LEGACY!!!!!!!!!!without Freddy Prinze Jr. , Sarah Michelle Gellar, and Matthew Lillard this movie wont live up to everything kids thought it would be, plus they are all rolemodels, i can watch the cartoon anyday(which i dont) but the movie will only be around so long

Okay, so these folks wanna spread their wings…do other stuff. Ummm…what noteworthy movies have they made since Scooby Doo 2? Matthew and Linda HAVE to come back!! They were better than the Shaggy and Velma of the cartoons!! As for Daphne, get Jennifer Love Hewitt to take the part. These guys need to take a lesson from Leonard Nimoy, which was this: NEVER forget who buttered your bread. To shun the fans is pulling a William Shatner.

WHAT!!?!?!?!!! Matthew’s rumored to leave?!? NOOOO!!!!!!!! I mean, I had heard about Sarah and Freddie not coming back, and I was upset, but MATTHEW??!?!?! NOOOOO!!!!! I absolutely ADORE him. And he made SUCH a cute (and slightly sexy) Shaggy, too (my favorite character on the show itself (;P) WHY was I not informed!!?!!?!?!???!!? I am VERY upset! Arrrrrfrrrrgh! *mutter stutter mumbo jumbo* Awoh. Rats.

Scooby Doo 3 without Freddy Prince Jr and Sara Michelle Gellar would still be a great movie as long as Matthew Lillard was still Shaggy. As a matter of fact….. it might even be better without Freddy and Sara!!!!!!! The only people that made this movie a hit to begin with are Mathew Lillard, and Linda Cardellini! They are Velma and Shaggy to a tee! No one mentions Linda doing Velma so well, and while I think that Matthew as Shaggy is the one perfect bit of casting, Linda as Velma is a close second. Anyone can replace Freddy Prince Jr, and Sara Michelle Gellar, but the movie is dead and buried without Matthew Lillard and Linda Cardellini. Just had to leave my two cents worth!!
